The first art working i have shown is an assyrian piece. people use animals as a sign of strength and in the
picture you can see someone who looks as if they are a king or something of that nature slashing a lions throat while riding in the back of a carriage or something. this picture can show a lot of power because of the strength of a lion they could be sending the message of how strong they are 
this is an egyptian picture that waaf rom around 3000 B.C its pretty interesting its got 2 colors and each side is doing something different but with the same action one side has a bird and people behind him while the other doesn't maybe to symbolize good and evil
I agree with what you are saying about people using animals as a sign of strength and power. If there is someone slashing a lions throat there could definitely be a message of power involved and someone trying to prove they are more powerful than the other. I like your thoughts of the good and evil in the second images. Maybe going into more detail on the artwork itself would give the audience a better understanding of the piece you chose. Nice choice in art!
